In 2001, Hog Slat, Inc. enlarged its manufacturing footprint with the purchase of Heartland Products Company from its previous owner. Heartland Products has been in the business of producing high quality steel hog equipment since 1996, and the addition of the Columbus, Nebraska facility and its employees has given Hog Slat the opportunity to serve its customers in the Midwest and Southwest even better. To further that commitment of service to the growing pork industry, the Heartland plant was doubled in size to 40,000 square feet in 2006.
